Technology makes us Dumb

I have heard that Technology makes one stupid and that's true in many of our cases. In an recent survey it's said that the average person in US will send and receive 2,200 messages per month. Thus youngsters who text down will lead them into anxiety, distress, grade out and sleep deprivation. The use of reins for texting doesn't make them dumb but also the use of calculators, PDA's, Laptops, TV, Internet makes one dumb by slowing down their brain activity. Many countries have banned the use of calculators in the school for the students who are under age 8. They apparently believed that the usage of calculators should be banned. Apart from this people are hooked up with many social sites and checking dictionaries online will slow down the activity and makes really dumb. I too have these kind of habits, which gets me relatively! :). I used to do all the multiplications in my brain during my school days. Now I cannot add simple calculations without a calculator or with my cell phone. I failed in my college subjects because of excess use of Internet. I used to get hooked with many social sites where I used to spent more time. My thinking gets diminished and technology does add to my dumbness while making my brain function at a pace that is only half of what it is actually capable of. I used to depend lot on my mobile phone. It reminds me my friends birthday's and thus it takes to the opportunity of face to face relationship. I even store the pin number of my credit card, which is so easy to remember.

Thus a person can be termed as dumb only based on the extend to which he relies on technology.
Our brain has to be made to work, if is to stay fit. And storing data's in phones will make the life easier but completely drain the brain. People who have an illusion of really being smarter than they are advised not to twist their life with gadgets.
