Learning to let go!

Recently I met my friend, who confessed that he had started drinking, the reason: he had heavy loss in the business. We love to cling on to things; money, opinions, possessions, events, memories. We hold on to everything that we can lay our hands on. Resultant, we are in pain almost all the time. Either because we keep losing some of them or we fear we will lose them sometime soon. Too many young people are struggling with this wrong way of living. Their stress levels are up, and they are suffering from nervous break downs because of depression. Yet, we have always been told to let go. As we go up the corporate ladder, at every coaching, training and appraisal forum, we are told we must let go, to raise further. When something terrible happens, like the loss of a dear one or losses in a business or loss of a job or a break up, we are told by elders and well-wishers alike that we must let go and move on.

Be sure, there is a way. But be also sure, like most other things in life, there are no guarantees. Your state of acceptance is the only way to make it work for you. Letting go is not an option or choice. It is the only way to understand and experience your real self, and to attain bliss. When we came into this world, we came with nothing, no name. No identity. We just refuse to surrender or acknowledge that our real self is the one that has no attachments.

The secret to gaining anything in life, money, stature, peace, love, prosperity, is to accept our real self and just let go. You begin this journey by practicing to accept that just as you are entitled to an option, other are too. So, let go of your options, Express yourself, but never impose yourself.
