Cleaning the apartment is one of the
toughest things, as I have ever witnessed in Sweden. This is not an easy
procedure which we can all finish it in an overall night. From giving away the
present apartment and moving into a next apartment needs a proper planning and
time management. Most of the housing
boards in Sweden, insists to issue a 3 months’ notice before a person/family moves out of the apartment, this become tough in case of students, whose
some of their schedule can extends few weeks than their usual deadline and they
suffer for extension with the apartment. Anyways, proper planning and backups will
help in making such decisions.
Shifting things and cleaning the apartment
needs to be done in order wise. It’s better to shift maximum number of things
before starting the cleaning session, because as you can find most of the
places are quiet empty and thus will make the cleaning process easy to handle,
instead of working around the corners of each table. The best way to shift is
by ordering a trailer or a wagon, where one thinks where they can accommodate all
their stuffs. I found a free trailer service provided by one of the company in
the Sweden. They charge only for the
deposit and they will return the deposit back once the trailer is given before
the deadline or hand over the trailer without any charges.
The cleaning of the apartment needs to be
planned very carefully. It can started before a week or couple of weeks,
depends of the amount of cleaning basically needed for the apartment. I started
doing bathroom for the first day, second day with kitchen, third day with
toilet and living hall and fourth day with living rooms and the final day is
doing all rooms together. The cleaning of the rooms can be repeated in schedule
depends upon the weight of cleaning done to each room and time spent. I recommend to start cleaning from the roof
of the wall and proceeded by the wall and then finally to the floors. This
makes the perfect cleaning routine.
Different things in the house should be cleaned
in different manner and by using different kind of appropriate solutions of
each thing in the home, does the finest job. For example, I use Ajax for
cleaning white wood and cleaning the tiles, stainless steels, and mirror, I use
different solutions. Universal cleaning liquid solutions can be
used for overall cleaning, but the effect of cleaning will not the quiet
similar of one which use for the appropriate ones. It’s better to buy things of better quality
for cleaning purposes, as we all knew it’s a one time job and if it was done in
better way, we can avoid a big fine amount for spending those extra pennies.
The last day of the cleaning involves the floor work, as all the parts in the
house is cleaned and wiped, the remains are left out the floor, and they are removed
by washing and wiping the floor.
Throwing garbage should be considered
seriously, many people due to their limits schedule they pile all the stuffs in
a huge bag and throw in garbage. This step may be an easy way to throw away all
the rubbish things from the house, but it is the inappropriate method while we
consider the environment, so each and everything should be disposed accordingly
to the containers which they have in the garbage room. Papers, hard plastic,
metals, woods and other house hold things should be trashed in the appropriate
cans. Some of the commune in Sweden are very careful with this issue and would trace
out the tenant with a huge fine, if they throw inappropriate things in the
garbage.
Moving in the new apartment, definitely
takes some time to settle down, but we can avoid that time in different way by
saving the old things from the old house, thus we can’t prevent in buying all
things and having a zero start.
