The great fashion gatsby

This blog is about a movie named, "The great gatsby". The romance, drama movie had this title earlier as  Robert Redford had cast into the role. The movie has all flavours in it, more particularly the costumes used in the movie are excellent and the artists who carried on with their character showed their  immense involvement. Talking about Leonardo Di Caprio's costumes he had set an example to the world, how the billionaires would throw up the party normally. The black dinner suit in the introduction part and the toast shows the richness of his character.

Another important suit in the film is his white suit, which appears when he tries to meet daisy for the first time at the tea party. It's a Splendid outfit for the character who wants to show his richness to his long missing partner. The hand stick and the hairdo add majestic appearance to his character.

The pink costume which he wear’s at daisy’s place, shows the character's richness with some royalty.

The fashion of the movie is not only portrayed with dicaprio's style, but also with all other major character's in the movie. Even's daisy tea party costume is so soothing to view. Daisy with her flapper costume appears more like a fairy admist of the flower's in Toby's house.  The director or the costume designer must have planned very keenly for that tea party scene.

Later appeared her black dress when she is with di caprio's at his house, which is more casual yet catchy with the headband and hand sleeves. The colour and design embodied in her black dress don't take our concentration when many clothes were thrown at her in one scene.

Finally the crystal dress, at the party appears more fashionable. The kind of costume is famous during 30's and remain to glitter even in 2000's. The spur worn across her neck, hand bangles coupled with the ring and the head band shows both beauty and magnificence of the character.

Dress to kill

would any of you dare to wear glen plaid pants and pin strip blazer? Yes! I have taken my own risk in wearing off the costume, hope it wasn't bad though!

Few things which needed to be learnt while dressing. " Dress to kill" is a phrase should be owned by all who follows the etiquette in dressing. It all depends upon the what kind of dress is he/she chooses to wear for the day. To look elegent, men usually dress with suit coat or blazers. Though both of them look alike they have few minor changes with them. Suit comes with the set of trousers, some times it comes along with the matching vests. While blazers are brought seperately. Blazers are usually idenified by their dark colours with the slits or vents in their sides, while the suits have it in the back. Modern day suits are hollywood suits doesn't come with vents, which makes the character to appear sleak. Single breast suits are for the people who are amateur in wearing the suits, while following all the etiquettes they can go with double breasted suits, which looks more profession. It's very important to see the fit of the suit with the shoulders, fit with the torso and fit with the elbow. There should be a room of half an inch for the shirt to pop out for a perfect look.

Choosing vents is like depends upon the body physique. If the body is big and broad, people can opt for two slits or vents, while for the smaller body, its better to have no vents. The suits have the buttons matched with its colour and it can be either double breast or single breasted models. The same patterns applicable to the blazers, and generally they come with two buttons. In the both suits and blazers usually the bottom buttons are unbuttoned for the comfort level. The number of buttons also depends upon the size of the person, if the person is teenager or young he can go with three buttons, while for the matured look one can choose two buttons in the suit. The buttons in the suit determines the number of buttons in the hand sleeves. The numbers should be the same. All the buttons in the suit can be loosened when you are compelled to dance in events. choosing the fabric depends upon the individual and the seasons in which he/she feels more comfortable. Cotton is preferable during cold days, which keeps the body warm. Here are some of the fabrics mentioned below:

trouser fabrics:

flanel  - all seasons
wool gabardine - depends
cotton corduroy - cold seasons
chinos - This more like cotton

jacket fabrics:

corduroy,
wool,
cashmere,
tweed.

While wearing a suit, the first thing which should be taken into account is whether both the fabrics go with the same color and next thing is vest, most preferably the color the vest should match the color of the fabric, else the whole appearance odd, rather depicting some fashinoable scenario. Morning coats are famous in England in the early days. It comes with a hat, neck scarf(burberry), suit and vest coat. Thi suit is bit long and it has tail on its back. The trousers worn along with are paired with them with stripes around the corners.  This kind of suits are worn during wedding occasions or any festivals. While wearing a suit ties, belts and shoes are choosen properly according to their colors. It is believed that there are differeent colours of vests worn to the particular occasions. The best way to match a vest is to wear the same color of its tie, when worn without suits or blazers. Some people tend to be little different wear suit, trousers and vest with contrasting colors of same family.(eg. Dark brown trousers, light suits and medium dark vest). The most important thing while wearing vest is the collar of the shirt should be tugged into it, else it look odd.

There are two words in english dictionary which confuses me, plait and pleat. The same happened when I choose to wear a pant for the matching blazer. I have choosen the plaited pants for the blazer which surprisingly gave me a complete look with other accesories. Handkerchiefs too play a important role in dressing, the color of the handkerchiefs are matched appropriately to the whole some. Various folds of the handkerchief plays a various role. It is inserted properly to the suit or blazer to make the incomplete complete. Choosing a bowtie depends upon the casuality and confidence of the dresser. wedding parties or other family accocations give the dresser a impressive look. The bowtie is worn for the dinners and other evening festivals. Mostly the bow tie is worn along with cummerband.

Corduroy fabric Blazers are combined with casual jeans gives the cool look. Again the most important of all is the color which is choosen to wear them. I went along with maroon coloured corduroy along with blue jeans and a  pair of sports shoe, which gave the compelete look. It also mainly depends upon the other factors like hair, beard and other external factors. The individual should choose carefully before they adorn themselves for the right fit.
