Osi model is the expansion of open systems interconnection. It is also subdivided into many layers. These layers have certain services which are responsible for the communication. It is divided into seven layers like application layer, presentation layer, session layer, transport layer, network layer, data link layer and physical layer. The protocols such as sip, ftp, and telnet function in this layer. The ssl communication takes place in presentation layer. The session layer is responsible for establishing the connection between layers. The fourth layer is termed as transport layer and both wired and wireless communication takes place in this layer. While Ip address and IPSec comes under network layer for data transmission. The data link layer is where Ethernet works in the second layer. Here the Mac address is involved in data transmission.
