From upanishads and bhagavad gita in sanskrit

"Yada yada hi dharmasya glanir bhavati Bharata;
Abhyutthanam adharmasya tadatmanam srijamyaham.
Paritranaya sadhunam vinasaya cha dushkritam;
Dharma-samthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge."

"Navras," is the aesthetic experience (not the emotional experience itself) of the nine basic emotions or tastes (rasas), viz., sensitive (perception of love, shringar), comic (hasya), heroic (veer), furious (raudra), apprehensive (vibhatsa), compassionate (karuna), horrific (bhayanak), marvelous (adbhut), and calmed (shaant).

tamaso ma jyotir gamaya
mrtyor mamrtam gamaya

Jnani manasa saha
Buddhis ca na vicestate
Tam ahuh paramam gatim
